XY Planning

Caleb has been a tremendous relationship to our firm for a while now. We operate in the fee-only financial planning space, but so many of our clients still need quality term-life and disability insurance. Until working with Caleb, we didn't have a solution for one of our largest pain-points. We now have a trusted relationship that we can refer folks to who we know won't aim to upsell or change the policy recommendations for his own gain.

Caleb does a great job with my clients. I am always 100% confident he's finding the best value for my Term and Disability needs and is never cross-selling or up-selling them into permanent insurance or other bad products. He's the easy button for implementing my fiduciary recommendations.

Common questions

What advisors usually want to know first.

How is Aligned Path different from a traditional insurance agent?
Most agents are captive: one carrier, paid on what they sell. We're independent, shop across carriers for what fits, and work only with fee-only advisors, so the process holds to the standard a fiduciary practice expects.
Do you work directly with the client or through the advisor?
Both. Some advisors hand off after a warm intro; others stay involved throughout. Either way, we keep you informed.
What does it cost the advisor to work with you?
Nothing. We're paid standard carrier commissions, and we shop for what fits the client, not what pays us most.
What types of insurance do you handle?
Life (term, whole, universal), disability, long-term care, home, auto, umbrella, and commercial lines: GL, E&O, cyber, workers' comp, and key person.
Can you review a client's existing coverage?
Yes, often the best place to start. We review what they have, flag any gaps, and share recommendations. No obligation to change anything.
What if I don't have a financial advisor?
We can still help with insurance directly. For broader planning, we recommend working with a fee-only fiduciary advisor. Our guide to finding one covers the directories we trust, including NAPFA, the XY Planning Network, the Garrett Planning Network, FeeOnlyNetwork, and the Advice-Only Network.
